Running a water filtration business in Singapore for more than 15 years, we saw how the market is flooding with new brands of water filtration in recent years. Besides, the awareness on “no plastic” campaign has somehow given a warning message about the danger of single-use plastic to the public. The increased awareness on drinking quality drinking water is a good sign, encouraging the local market to flourish with different water filtration products. Introducing with lots of benefit claims, these products with variety of quality are being packaged with fancy colors and designs, ranging from high-end to low-end. But the one thing that consumers tend to overlook is what makes a great water filtration system.
Due to the booming market demand, within a blink of the eyes; some reputable brands starts to invent and introduce different types of models to suit the latest trend and demand. With some modifications on the functions and features, these brands can easily fill the market with their aesthetically products that are pleasing but cheaper. In other words, cheaper quality.
Believe it or not, we have been questioned by “yet-to-be” or potential customers about the pricing. Reasons being, our products were compared to other X/Y/Z brands, either in the retail or online store such as Lazada, Qoo10 and etc. This is no surprise to us; a lot of water filtration system shares the similar design and outlook. However, what makes them so different in pricing is the quality and capacity.
By quality, we are not referring to anything else but the water filter quality. Our advice to customers does not go anywhere other than the quality of filters, for they can get too fascinated by the brand’s design and looks. At the end of the day, they are drinking the water, not the design.
By capacity, is to check the maintenance frequency of filters. The filter can be designed to last 1 year, or 6 months or lesser than that. By acquiring this small piece of info, you will know the cost efficiency of the water filtration system that you plan to invest. We are talking about at least 2 to 3 years of usage, which could last longer than your latest model of handphone.
